How to Make a Tulle Wand

This is a really easy Tulle Wand Tutorial to get you started on making your own wands.  It’s one of many wand tutorials and one of the easiest I’ve found. If you are having a birthday party, a princess party, or are looking to make an enchanting party favor, look no further. You can really spice it up by adding tiny rhinestones to the tulle puff or add some various ribbon streamers in addition to what is shown.

Want to make a toddler friendly version of this wand? Piece of cake! Back in 2006, I designed a line of wrist streamers for toddlers as a substitute for the wands. It is a much safer alternative and makes the little one’s feel special.

Simply substitute the wooden dowel with an elastic hair band or a hand-sewn no-roll elastic band fitted to the child’s wrist.  I prefer to sew my own as it reduces the risk of being too tight. Once that is done, simply tie the streamers around the band first.  Once your streamers are in place, tie the tulle puff over the streamers. *Avoid using any small parts ( such as beads, rhinestones, or bells) that are not suitable for toddlers.  Safety First! Remember, the idea for the wrist streamer is to provide your toddler with a safe alternative.

Jazz up your tulle wand with an assortment of glitzy ribbon streamers. This is a great way to reduce your ribbon scrap pile and put some of that darling ribbon to good use :)
